The Spectran is a class E car in Crashday. The vehicle has a front-wheel-drive drivetrain and a 5-speed transmission. As Crashday's starter car, the Spectran is the slowest car in game. It's one of the easiest cars to drive due to its forgiving nature. When upgraded, it can put up a good fight against cars of its class. Armour and wrecking power are moderate, but not sufficient for class B. The same goes for its top speed as it cannot go faster than 226 km/h. Still, it's a good choice for technical tracks with not many straights, thanks to its excellent handling.
The Spectran seems to be based on the second generation Opel Vectra (B), according to it's overall body/cabin shape and stock bumper sets, but with major changes from the first generation Mazda 6 (GG1), such as the front and rear lights.
Trivia
- The Spectran is one of the two 4-door vehicles present in the game, along with the Wrecker.
- The Spectran had an unused vinyl called "Polizei", which has been made available in Redline Edition, with new all-blue siren textures not present originally.
- The Spectran initially didn't have an original name in the beta versions and was simply known as "Police Vehicle".
- A leftover of this has carried over to the retail game aswell, as the 'Shop name' for the car is "Stolen Police Vehicle". The player will never be able to see this though, as the Spectran is always unlocked.
- The cover, used for hiding cars without sufficient respect in the Shop, is present for the Spectran aswell, but never visible due to it being the starter car and having a respect requirement of 0.
- A covered Spectran can be seen in a demo version of the original game, due to different cars being unlocked by default.
- The Spectran was originally based on the Opel Vectra A.
